I kind of have a thing for film festivals. There’s something magical about watching movies with filmmakers and an audience that really gives a shit. Something amazing about the crazy days and long nights hanging out with fellow dreamers and makers. The thrill of discovery! I’ve been particularly inspired by fests that foster a creative community, involve music and art, and are anchored in a city or neighborhood that is often overlooked or underappreciated. There’s a reason why we love “Show & Tell” as kids—we all have a need to be heard and share what we’re passionate about! The Vidlings & Tapeheads Film Festival is what that looks like for our crew, in this town, at this moment.
Our inaugural fest was a huge success! We received over 200 film submissions from around the world and welcomed hundreds to the fest over three days. Whether you were there and would like to relive it or couldn’t make it and want to see what the fuss was all about, here’s a collection of VTFF2017 stuff to check out! —Jerry White Jr. | Festival Director
