Vidlings & Tapeheads Film Festival 2018 Wrap-Up

Jerry Pixel Pic VTFF2018Welcome back! Or, if this is your first time to the fest—WELCOME TO YEAR TWO!! We’ve got a brand new batch of fantastic filmmakers, marvelous musicians, and amazing artists (plus a few returning alumni)! We’re here to celebrate unconventional stories, share space, hang out, meet and greet, and eat and drink! This year our music lineup has been curated by the Seraphine Collective, which is all kinds of awesome. We’re also now sponsored in part by the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office, which has been an incredible boost and really helped us make this year something extra special. Our crew has put a lot of hard work and heart into this weekend—y’all are in for a fun/cool/weird/powerful experience! Expect to be entertained, but also challenged. Expect to see/hear something you’ve never seen/heard before. And most of all, expect to have a great freakin’ time!! —Jerry 白 | Festival Director

Vidlings & Tapeheads Film Festival 2017 Wrap-Up

Jerry White Jr. (by Millie Ho)I kind of have a thing for film festivals. There’s something magical about watching movies with filmmakers and an audience that really gives a shit. Something amazing about the crazy days and long nights hanging out with fellow dreamers and makers. The thrill of discovery! I’ve been particularly inspired by fests that foster a creative community, involve music and art, and are anchored in a city or neighborhood that is often overlooked or underappreciated. There’s a reason why we love “Show & Tell” as kids—we all have a need to be heard and share what we’re passionate about! The Vidlings & Tapeheads Film Festival is what that looks like for our crew, in this town, at this moment.

Our inaugural fest was a huge success! We received over 200 film submissions from around the world and welcomed hundreds to the fest over three days. Whether you were there and would like to relive it or couldn’t make it and want to see what the fuss was all about, here’s a collection of VTFF2017 stuff to check out! —Jerry White Jr. | Festival Director
